The Council officers who are organising the consultation about the Site Allocations & Development Management DPD and the Area Green Spaces Plan are doing a 'roadshow' around the city to enable residents to drop in, have a look at the maps, ask questions, discuss the options and provide feedback.
The roadshow comes to our neck of the woods on Monday 13th September. The officers will be at Redland Parish Church Hall on Redland Green Road between 12 noon and 8pm. There's no need to book or anything like that - it's just a drop-in-at-your-convenience affair.
If you can't make that, they are also doing two days with the same hours at Brunel House (behind the Council House) on 6th and 7th October. The consultations are open through to 29th October, so there is still plenty of time to get involved and express a view.

Had a look at the maps and all looks great.
However, Cotham Grammar school on Cotham Lawn Road has a nice green grassy field which is marked as Important Open Space on the map.
And, there is a planning application in 10/03337/F to tarmac a third of this field with black tarmac and put huge 3 metre fences around it.
And who is the application from - Bristol Council - schools dept.
It is either important open space or not and the Council should adhere to the same standards as everyone else. Otherwise why have these maps and policies.
Hopefully you will be objecting to this application.
All they need is a playground not a 2000sqm box surrounded by 3 m fences.
A previous application had 1500sqm of green tarmac - so they do not need all of this and it could be green tarmac.
Plus no noise survey to accompany the application!
PC - I'm not going to be objecting to the MUGA in principle as I support the school's aspirations to move their games facility onsite.
At the moment you have the silly situation of students being bussed around the city, which wastes their time and their teachers', creates additional traffic and causes road safety difficulties on Cotham Road where the buses pick up and drop off. The school teaches up to the age of 18, so it is a little more than a 'playground' that the students need!
The MUGA has been part of the improvement plans at the school from the outset - it's been in the pipeline for several years, so it is not coming out of the blue. The delay has been in finding a solution that minimises the disruption to residents living immediately next to the site and this is what is now being proposed.
I am happy to follow up items of detail, such as whether the correct assessments have been done and the colour of the surfacing. The case officer is currently on leave, but I will be speaking to him on his return next week.
Is there anything else beyond the size, the noise assessment and the colour of the tarmac that you want me to look into?
